Who we are

Truvows is operated by Budruum Ltd, registered in England & Wales. Registered address: 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. We are the data controller for all personal data processed on the Truvows platform. Contact: booking@budruum.co.uk

What data we collect

We collect: identity information (name, date of birth, nationality) during verification; a government-issued ID document reference (we do not store the image after verification); profile information you provide (city, biography, occupation, interests); relationship status declarations and supporting document references; usage data (pages visited, interactions, time on platform); device and browser information; payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details); and, when SafeDate is active, your temporary location data.

How we use your data

We use your data to: verify your identity and age; display your transparency profile to other members; enable matching, messaging and event participation; process event ticket payments; send service notifications and emails; operate SafeDate safety features; investigate reports and enforce our Community Guidelines; and comply with legal obligations.

SafeDate location data

Your location is collected only when SafeDate is active and only if you choose to share it. Location data is never used for advertising, profiling or any purpose other than your active SafeDate session. It is permanently and automatically deleted from all our systems the moment your SafeDate session closes — whether by you confirming you're safe, by the session timing out, or by manual closure.

Relationship declarations

Your relationship status declarations are stored in an append-only log attached to your verified identity. We cannot alter or delete individual declaration records — this is a deliberate design decision to maintain an immutable audit trail. If you delete your account, your declaration records are retained for the legally required period and then permanently deleted.

Sharing your data

We share your data with: identity verification providers (Onfido or Dojah) to verify your identity and documents; Stripe for payment processing; Resend for transactional emails; LiveKit for video call infrastructure; and cloud infrastructure providers (Vercel, Supabase). We do not sell personal data. We do not share data with advertisers.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access a copy of your personal data; correct inaccurate data; delete your account and associated data (subject to legal retention requirements); restrict how we process your data; object to processing; and data portability. Contact booking@budruum.co.uk to exercise any of these rights.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account: profile data is deleted immediately; verification references are retained for 12 months for fraud prevention; payment records are retained for 7 years for accounting compliance; declaration logs are retained for 6 years in case of legal dispute.

Cookies

We use necessary cookies to operate the platform, analytics cookies (with your consent) to understand how the platform is used, and preference cookies to remember your settings. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
