Pillars of Truvows Trust & Safety
What is a Decree Absolute and why does Truvows require it?expand_more
A Decree Absolute is the final legal document confirming a divorce in England & Wales. Truvows requires it from members who declare themselves legally divorced, as it is the only document that proves the marriage has formally ended. Without it, you remain legally married regardless of separation.
What is the Duress PIN and when would I use it?expand_more
The Duress PIN is a secondary PIN that, when entered, silently alerts your SafeDate Trusted Circle and Truvows safety team while appearing to log you in normally. Use it if you are being coerced into accessing your account.
How does Relationship Lock work?expand_more
Relationship Lock allows members in a confirmed exclusive relationship to lock their profiles from discovery — removing them from matching and search results — without deleting their account. Both members must confirm to activate.
What happens at the 180-Day Cycle?expand_more
Every 180 days, all members must re-declare their civil status and renew their verification. If a member does not complete re-declaration within the window, their profile is automatically hidden from discovery until renewal is complete.
Can SafeDate be used for dates not arranged through Truvows?expand_more
Yes. SafeDate is designed to work anywhere — whether you met someone through Truvows, Instagram, a bookstore, or anywhere else. The system works with any location and any trusted guardians, regardless of whether they are Truvows members.
What is the 15-Minute Live Intro?expand_more
Before any messaging in Date Mode, both matched members complete a 15-minute live audio or video introduction. This protects against catfishing, confirms mutual interest, and begins the connection with a human moment rather than text.
